Plants rest at night, just like humans and animals. But do they also dream? What is their nocturnal existence like? What are the similarities and differences between them and us?
Do Trees Dream of CO? is a Franco-Swedish collective that will be presenting its work at SOLU Space on 13 October 2023. Over the last two years, the collective has been developing a technology and an installation for sharing an inter-species moment. The event is an opportunity for the public to get an overview of the technical, scientific and artistic developments achieved to date as part of the project. Visitors will also be invited to lie down and spend some time listening to the tree.
Man has always ignored the ability of plants to solve problems. We are gradually learning more about how plants react to changes in their environment and what they do to improve their chances of survival. Humankind has also been relatively blind to the many similarities we share with the plant life around us. But because we share the same planet and the same evolutionary past, we also share a great deal of biochemistry. In biology, a great deal of attention has recently been paid to how plants act, how they perceive the world and adapt to changes in their environment. In Do Trees Dream of CO? artists and researchers examine what art can learn from this exciting new research and how it can be used to create art installations to share.

Korpoström
For a special meeting, Maria Ångerman, in residence at Proartibus Korpoström, has invited artists whose practices consider more-than-human communities from a variety of perspectives. The artists invited are Per Hüttner & Karine Bonneval for the project Do Trees Dream of CO2? and Ana Bravo Pèrez.
