Mycorrhizae

Mycorrhizae is the result of the symbiotic association between fungi and plant roots. At the horticultural high school in Blois, it symbolises an alliance between the pupils of the Horti and Tcvpj senior classes, their teacher, Philippe Petit, and an artist, Karine Bonneval.

Organic entanglement created from recycled earth and cellulose, it proposes to think about our precious and indispensable interactions with non-human life. Organisms that live outside our field of perception, underground, are precious and fragile allies.

This sound installation, brought back to our human scale, proposes to consider them with more attention. The sounds broadcasted are recordings of the movements of living invertebrates in the soil of the permaculture vegeteble garden and  of the compost of the high school greenhouses.

An Aux Arts Lycéens project , the Centre Val de Loire region in collaboration with the Chaumont sur Loire estate.
