Following a residency on the site of the Saint Jacques de Clohars-Carnoët chapel and participative workshops, Karine Bonneval, Zabo Chabiland, Loran Jacob and Diego Campanelli propose works around a common theme: Earth. An invitation from APte (Artistes Plasticiens trans-européens).
12 portraits of soil, from donations from individuals and walks in the surrounding area. These portraits use a method developed by agricultural engineers to analyse soil quality in the field. Soil samples prepared in solution are revealed in sunlight using a technique similar to photographic development. Framed in a precious way, each soil reveals its complexity in a variety of fine nuances.
Listening to the soil
Paper mache-soil sculpture, 2017. Speakers.
We stand on the earth, it is a complex and primordial world, but one that eludes us. A healthy soil is noisy.
Recordings made in residence of the soil around the spring of the chapel Saint Jacques, the sandy path of Trégunc, the banks of the Belon.
