Karine Bonneval’s exhibition ‘Ecosophical Topographies’ brings to a close the
‘Research and Creation Workshop on Mental, Social and Environmental Ecology: A Tribute to André Gorz’ project, carried out in 2025–2026 with the support of MSH Paris Nord, in partnership with the IDHE.S laboratory and the UTOPIA bookshop.
Inspired by the concept of ecosophy developed by Félix Guattari and taken up by André Gorz, this project explores the links between mental, social and environmental ecology within critical thinking on political ecology.
Through a series of workshops organised at the UTOPIA bookshop, researchers, students, activists and local residents shared readings and open-ended reflections based on ‘positive thinking’, in which each author’s works become tools for conceiving, both theoretically and practically, the interplay between the three ecologies.

Karine Bonneval supported the series of workshops throughout its development; this exhibition showcases her unique contribution as a visual artist. The drawings, created using inks, felt-tip pens
and cut-outs, are conceived as maps, biotopes or organic diagrams. They suggest flows, linkages,
routes and connections between the touhghts of 
Félix Guattari, Bernard Stiegler, André Gortz, Charles Fourier, Jason Moore, Elisée Reclus, working-class environmentalism, Karl Marx, Ivan Illich, Serge Latouche.

The opening on 6 November follows on from the study day ‘Ecosophical Consonances’ organised by Antonella Corsani.
