Three keys: paper and biscuits with birch leaves and seeds, cotton thread

two incense burners: essential oil and birch tar, cotton thread

In a reimagined interior where we coexist with the birch, birch seeds and leaves feature prominently, incorporated into our biscuits and our papers. The ceramic pieces hang like tools, tools, familiar forms.

The tar extracted from the bark of the white birch releases methyl salicylate. Like aspirin, this compound has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and diuretic properties; its powerful aroma fills the space, much like birch essential oil, which is used as an anti-inflammatory. A few drops of these two products, made from birch, are placed in the hollows of the ceramic catkins, which then act as scent diffusers.
