What if Julie's garland was made of wool?

from May 3rd to August 30th 2010 Rambouillet domain
What if Julie's garland was made of wool?

"Et si la Guirlande de Julie était en laine...", a reference to the collection of poems given to Julie d'Angennes by the Duc de Montausier in 1642. It brings together fifty visual artists and fashion designers working in wool, cotton, felt or silk - in reference to a collection of poetry - in the Château de Rambouillet and the Dovecote of the Royal Court (Bergerie nationale), as well as the Queen's Dairy and the Chaumière aux coquillages.
A group exhibition curated by Yves Sabourin.

Phylloplasties - a neologism coined from the ancient Greek word for leaf and the ending plastie, as used in plastic surgery - are plants augmented with artificial additions, a derisory and violent attempt to bring exoticism back to living plants that have become commonplace objects. Plants that have been colonised, but that adapt and continue to live and grow.
